Senior AML Manager
Job Title: Senior AML Manager Reference: AJB JB AML 01 Location: CANARY WHARF-LONDON Assignment Profile: Our client is a well regarded financial institution based in Canary Wharf. They are seeking to employ an experience AML/Compliance professional. As a senior member of the Financial Crime Team (FCT) you will work with the Head of the FCT and the MLRO to ensure that the requisite controls and procedures are in place in accordance with the FSA’s statutory objective.
Other areas of responsibility will include;
Undertake monitoring for the proactive identification of potentially suspicious transactions
Assist in the further development of the Actimize surveillance monitoring tool (consideration of new models, liaison with IT & Project Management in the implementation & testing of new models and engaging with clients on the roll out of the Actimize product)
Investigate Actimize alerts (potentially suspicious activity) escalated by other FCT members (clearing such hits after suitable investigation or escalating as an incident for further review – see below)
Assist in the further development of the Choicepoint sanctions monitoring

Assist in the compilation and maintenance of the company internal watch-lists Candidate Profile: The successful candidate will have at least seven years relevant experience working in financial services (principally AML related) and detailed knowledge of Money Laundering Regulations, Proceeds of Crime Act 2002 and JMLSG Guidance
Knowledge of UK Treasury & OFAC sanctions
Knowledge of the rules & regulations of FSA and LSE
General awareness of company law and the Financial Services & Markets Act and
Appreciation of the mechanics & workings of the law enforcement agencies & courts
Experience in managing and developing staff
Can analyze existing & proposed legislation to determine impact on the firm and recommend appropriate response
Can analyze business queries as they relate to AML issues and provide practical alternatives / solutions
Good presentation and communication skills;
Excellent project management, interpersonal and analytical skills
Detail-oriented with the ability to work under pressure and within tight deadlines;
Ability to work independently and in a team environment;
