Our client is a highly regarded wealth management and private banking financial services institution. Due to a recent departure they are seeking to employee a Compliance Officer to join a small compliance department The main purpose of the role will include the following; Interpret regulatory requirements for two businesses (private clients and fund management the management and governance of authorised collective investment schemes) and advises the Compliance Director accordingly. Monitor adherence with the regulations and assists in the provision of advice and training to the employees on compliance topics You will be responsible for the implementation of the monitoring programme, ensuring that it is updated as necessary and that monitoring is kept on schedule. Other Responsibilities will include the following; General Stays informed of any regulatory changes related to the relevant business(es). Implements the monitoring programme, updates it as necessary and ensures the programme is kept on schedule. Ensures the quarterly report is produced within the timescale required. Assists in the development and maintenance of adequate internal workflows, including approval, monitoring and reporting processes, to ensure the company’s compliance with local regulatory requirements. Implements the regulatory provisions (e.g. on money laundering, due diligence, tax treaties, general risk controlling) into internal directives, including appropriate internal communication, and updates, whenever required. Promotes compliance awareness – maintains clear communication channels and provides expertise and pro-active advice to management and staff on all local regulatory and compliance matters. Ensures proper documentation regarding money laundering. Checks account opening documents with regard to money laundering. Participation in internal projects and initiatives. Maintains relationships with appropriate external parties. Supports local management to maintain effective working relationships with local regulators as well as external and internal auditors including monitoring of timely implementation of audit recommendations. Compliance Records Maintains the Compliance registers (e.g. breaches, gifts, staff dealing etc.) and produces regular reports thereon as required. Ensures that records are updated promptly and, where necessary, ensures that matters are followed up accordingly. Processes FSA application forms e.g. Registered Persons and maintains record.

CANDIDATE PROFILE

The successful candidate with be educated to degree level with preferably additional industry qualifications and have a minimum of 3 or 4 years compliance monitoring experience within in a similar role in private clients or private wealth management environment.
