Our client is a highly regarded financial services company. They are seeking to employ an experienced International Procurement Manager


The Main Purpose of Role


Responsible for coordinating supply-side spend and demand side policies throughout the company’s International division.

Primary focus will be the reduction of the Group’s cost base through use of existing subject matter expertise from within the central Group and within each International operation

Key to this, is the ability to form strong relationships and networks across a range of stakeholders, countries and regions

The individual will have good procurement process and strategy experience as a base, but as important will be their account management, communication and analytical skills together with experience of working cross-functionally.

This role requires a persuasive and tenacious professional with the ability to manage across a variety of cost categories, able to influence key business stakeholders and team members, help develop and implement sourcing strategies on the ground.


Duties and responsibilities


Managing the supply base across the International Division in collaboration with respective Corporate Functions, including Legal, Finance, and Procurement.

Work closely with stakeholders to understand current budget status, issues objectives and defining requirements

Help develop sourcing management, strategy, category plans and business cases.

Develop and manage procurement processes interfacing with Group Procurement and senior management

In association with Group Procurement, lead cross-functional teams through the sourcing process and ensuring compliance once implemented

Gathering data and completing analysis to identify, develop and assess options

Drive both supply and demand side cost management initiatives across the International division with the expectation of delivering savings targets and improved value for money

Rationalise supplier base and aggregate spend to optimise leverage

Develop strategic supplier relationships to promote joint working, with shared objectives for mutual benefit and superior return on services spend

Lead / conduct negotiations, develop contracts and framework agreements including terms and conditions, that meet requirements, driving desired behaviour and outcomes

Establish facts and findings to draw conclusions and make recommendations

Complete and present business cases that satisfies requirements and alignment with business strategy

Proactively manage all aspects of implementation including entry / exit of suppliers and associated change management

Contribute to the effectiveness and profile of the Global Procurement function

Candidate Profile:
Bachelors Degree

5-7 years in purchasing, expertise across indirect spend categories

Experience of an account management role, preferably in an International environment

Prior experience from work in a comparable Internationally based firm can be an advantage

Ability to interpret, amend and negotiate favorable contractual terms with large and smaller niche suppliers

Solid contract negotiation skills & ability to interface effectively with legal team

A strong focus on expense management programs, analyzing spend categories

Ability to effectively lead procurement initiatives and manage change within the organization.

Excellent presentation skills, ability to interact with clients on a senior management level, relationship management and the ability to multitask

Able to build relationships with multiple departments with the ability to introduce a procurement methodology.

A foreign language would also be an advantage
